Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade

Please do that:

Download the Tool "Regbak" from there regbak.zip (acelogix.com).
Unzip the Package and then run Regbak and create a new Backup from you registry.
Then open the explorer and navigate to "C:\Windows\RegBak\YourComputerName\15-11-2020\Windows\System32\config"
and copy and paste the "System" Backup to your desktop, zip it and then share it here.

In addition, please do this:
Optional features - Page 3 - Windows 10 Forums (tenforums.com)

and share the MyInfo too.
Since I'm gone for now, I'll come back later and look at the things.

Thanks to all for the help. However, I do think I may have solved it by getting the Peer services to work. I am not claiming complete victory yet but it is looking good. I found the solution and had to use the third option here. Troubleshoot Can't Start Peer Name Resolution Protocol Service - Techcult

If you are not perform an in-place upgrade again, undo the changes in the registry.

Otherwise you will have problems with future updates.
Please download the package, unzip it and run the script to change the version number back to 19042.630.

I did do an in-place upgrade again, as I mentioned above. It put me right back to version 19042.630 where I started. The cure to my problem, as I posted above, was to get the Peer services running and that link I posted told me how to do that.

Waste of time for me, I just attempted an inplace upgrade to restore my missing recovery partition and it says it cant keep any of my files or programs due to an unsupported directory. ??
And I am on 2HO2
Any ideas here?

KB4586853 CU Windows 10 v2004 build 19041.661 and v20H2 19042.661 do you have 661 KB installed? It's required for in place upgrade to work with 20H2

This is on one of my older desktops with an 860EVO ssd.
I saw that you can't run windows defender offline if your missing the recovery partition, so thought why not give it a go.

Looks like its a go for the repair install
I have dual monitors so I am typing on one screen, while the install is running (took over entire screen of the other)
Also temporarily have another win10 pc attached to another HDMI port on the monitor.
I have set that one up for my boats's nav PC using opencpn. They only last a few years it seems in the boat. I wonder if its humid air or age, I only use old PC for that. But the boat PC is much better than my desktop. I tend to hold onto PC's till they are unusable.

It ran and finished but it did not recreate any recovery partition, so is there another way to do that?
I thought it would setup a recovery partition?
Honestly it looks the same to me, not sure it did anything at all.
And my search indexing is off.

YES!, it can now do an offline defender scan. So the effort was worth it. I must have been missing the recovery section, and I wonder why it did not create a recovery partition, SSD is only half full.

Dont know, but after it did the defender offline scan, on the reboot, it said had to check disk, went thru all 3 stages and now its just spinning the thing round and round. I wonder if it's broken...
