    This could be an option:
    Refresh Windows 10
    Restore factory settings

Agreed. A refresh should reset everything except user accounts.

Hi, wondered if this might be worth expanding:

The installation media (ex: ISO or USB) must be the same language as your currently installed Windows 10. If it's not, then you will not keep anything.
    - is that the base language of what's installed, or what you're using by way of language packs?

Particular case: 'English' O/S with British English language packs. Should user use an 'English' or 'English International' (=UK English) iso?

Particularly relevant for older major builds where the media creation tool is not applicable.

    Thanks!

    Hey mate,

From my understanding, it's for the base language or system default language.

Thanks, that's what I understood... just thought it could be clearer in the tutorial to avoid confusion about language packs being used. I.e. people could think 'I'm currently using Spanish'.. rather than what the original base language of their O/S was and how to determine it.

A link to the means of determining that would be useful there.

Info at top of tutorial updated for this.

Run (Bcdedit)|Find "locale" via elevated Command Prompt, and you will find the language.
    Code:
    Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.18362.30]
    (c) 2019 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.

    C:\Windows\system32>(Bcdedit)|Find "locale"
    locale en-us
    locale en-us
    I installed Windows from "Win10_1903_V1_English_x64.iso".
If I have understood correctly, English = English (US) = EN-US = American English.
