Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade

If you need to roll back, I recommend that you use your Macrium Reflect image... not Windows. For me, the Windows rollback isn't worth the risk... even if it appeared to have been successful.

Have done several in-place with older BIOS, first time with UEFI+Safe Boot+Bitlocker. I saw warnings to disable both. I have some doubts:

- I have boot password enabled in Bitlocker. If I disable Safe Boot first, it asks for Bitlocker Recovery Key. Should I use the key, proceed on to Windows and then suspend Bitlocker? Or should I disable boot password?
- When you suspend Bitlocker, it says it will be enabled in re-boot. Is this OK, considering the upgrade may do boots by itself? Or is turning-off Bitlocker safer, albeit it is a long process?

I ended up removing boot password jus to be on the safe side, then did as you said. It went smoothly, thank!

It's fine to only suspend BitLocker since even thought the PC restarts, it doesn't actual restart into Windows 10 again until the repair install has finished.

Ok, so I finally got around to doing the in-place upgrade, here's how it went.

The issues still remain, mouse acceleration that cannot be removed, even with third party tools, 1440p support broken on my 4kTV and nearly 2 mins extra to boot up into windows (previous version of windows takes 8 seconds.)

I have tried clean install, multiple devices all have the same issues, when comparing my version of windows (1607) to the latest build none of these issues exist, which leads me to believe it's an issue with 1903.

I want to upgrade however because of security concerns running such an outdated version of windows, what would you guys recommend is the best course of action?

I am completely tempted to just take my PC off the network entirely.

The two biggest issues for me is the mouse acceleration and the 2 min boot up time, MarkC fix does not work to turn off acceleration in 1903 and I have tried reg tweaks, everything, you name it, 1903 adds some weird acceleration which means that you cannot get precise movement for the mouse and as someone who professionally plays games this is simply not good.

Same to be said for the slow bootup time, 8 seconds to two minutes, have run startup checking programs and they detect nothing causing the slowdown and yet, the slowdown still exists, even on a clean install which indicates to me it's an issue with 1903.

What do you guys think I should do?
