Microsoft seems to keep only the latest build in their website.
My experience with older .ISO's is you can only go back one version , i.e. from 1709 back to 1703, even then MS still applies some of the newer iterations into the older version. Not sure if one could go from let's say 1709 back to 1703 THEN back to 1607, I would think not as M$ has it set up to make sure we all have to bite the bullet.
I did the Fall Update (v1709) last month didn't care for the way it was then mounted the v1703 went thru the motions an saw a note before running it that stated 'this is an older version' an had an option to run/install anyway. Upon doing so noticed that the Settings option had the newer iterations (Search, Gaming etc) but the version was still listed as v1703.
A few weeks ago I bit the bullet an installed v1709 this time keeping the Windows\MiracastView folder from v1703 to place in v1709 that allowed that program to uninstall itself (it wouldn't with the stock v1709 for some reason) that an doing the DCOM take GUID ownership thing plus adding SYSTEM to the Component Services an giving it full control to stop all the darn DCOM errors. After that am only getting the usual event id 200,201,202 warnings.
I had an issue with Chrome launch w/v1709 popping port permissions (the firewall acceptance deal) come to find out that Chrome just needed updating.
I personally didn't have an issue reverting back to v1703 from v1709 but then again it could've been that it was only a few days old...dunno.
One caveat; I had to do an in place reinstall using the v1709 .ISO as I had made some errors in the registry one standout was the MetaData URL thing the stock one doesn't work an neither does the one given to seemingly fix that issue.
Happy New Year! Bit late but wanted to post back to confirm that using an older version than your existing Windows 10 version to do an in-place upgrade/downgrade definitely works. Didn't brick my laptop. Fixed most, if not all, of the problems I had, including my battery always stuck at 'plugged in, not charging.' Settings do not contain the 'Gaming' or the other additional settings in the Creator's Update. Also, I noticed that not disabling your anti-virus can prevent the 'downgrade', at least in my case (1709->1607). Thanks, again!

Does this mean apps like Windows Store apps? or Programs like Firefox, VLC, and so on ?
I previously did a successful repair install using this tutorial, as I described in post #675.
I want to repeat the repair install for exactly the same reason as before (the Kids guest account logs out immediately after logging in).
When I insert the same USB drive that I used previously (the file dates are correct), I notice that there is no "setup.exe". Also, there is no "support" folder, as shown in the screenshot for Step 5 in this tutorial. The date of the files in the USB drive is
If I have accidentally deleted setup.exe, will it be in the Recycle Bin? I can't see a $RECYCLE.BIN in File Explorer for the USB drive.
Is it possible to obtain a setup.exe file without the need to recreate the flash drive contents?
