I'm glad it could help ginfest, and welcome to Ten Forums. :)
Shawn I just wanted to tell you your tutorial help a work colleague who doesn't speak English. Being that he is an avid Firefox user I got him to download Google Translate for Firefox add-on and to review the tut. I worked like a charm.
His problem was he couldn't create a new folder using both New Folder or New Item in the ribbon, and he had somehow lost his "New" context menu. first I downloaded your reg file for him and Skyped it to him, but it didn't work. I don't know if it was because of his system language being German(I suspect it might have been that) or some other underlying problem.
Then we tried sfc /scannow, and that didn't find a thing wrong
So I called in the heavy artillery and recommended a repair install, and linked him to the tut, so he would know what was coming at him, and it worked!
Just used the article instructions to successfully upgrade my Windows 10 from Version 10, Build 10240 to Version 1511, Build 10586.318. This was done to fix a Windows update error (0x80240fff) and was used after reading a recommend (and link) in a posting on a Microsoft support forum. So a big thank you for clear and straightforward instructions.
Great video and tutorial!!! After almost a year on windows 10 I get to have "My windows 10 experience"!! Almost had it before but the little details make a gigantic difference!! Big thanks to Steve (essenbe) for making the detailed video and to Brink for the awesome guide!! Have to admit 10 Forums is the "place for best all round info"! Thanks again!!
I'm going to be doing a repair install of Windows 10 this weekend (DISM fails with unable to find Source information). I have Bitlocker turned on for both my WIndows and Data partitions. Do I need to decrypt the drives or turn Bitlocker off prior to doing the install?
Hello sesinger, and welcome to Ten Forums. :)
To be safe, I would recommend to at least turn off BitLocker on your Windows drive before doing a repair install.
