    NOOOOOOOOOOO.... Please don't say that!
I honestly have no idea what could've made such a mess.
I mean, Apps failing I get it. It's MICROSOFT after all but Restore Points turning off by themselves? (No I don't have any malware or virus AFAIK)
Have you experienced that as well?
My System Restore turned off after the November update (aka version 1511) was installed. Thankfully I noticed it after only a few days and turned it back on. The update made other changes as well.

Hello sideskroll, and welcome to Ten Forums. :)

As a test, create a new administrator user account and sign in to it to see if it works properly. If it does, then you could use it instead to avoid a reset or refresh.
Hello, thanks for the welcome and the reply. Hope this helps anyone in a similar situation:
Re download the files trough the Media Creator App and everything should go smoothly. Don't know how or why but it worked.
Basically, even if you have a new-ish USB with W10 on it. DO IT AGAIN.
Also, Microsoft should stop treating this OS as a beta or alpha release. The "testing phase" is over. It went gold and now they can't keep experimenting with users. (I'm talking about their idiotic updates that mess something up every single time)

But WHY?... I really do't see ANY POINT in doing so. Or that time when they decided to LITERALLY start uninstalling user installed apps. WTF?!?! That's borderline ILLEGAL.
Would you mind telling me about what other changes you noticed? (I want to fix them before they mess up my machine again)Also, how much space is the "default" for system restore?
    Thanks, all of you guys.

What I found that I had to reset (but not necessarily on each (3) of my machines was:
    1) Change PDF viewer back to my preference from Edge
    2) Change my default printer back to what I wanted from 'Windows will make the last printer used as default'
    3) Turn on System Restore
    4) Re-enable my Screen Saver
    5) Disable require password required after waking from sleep
    6) Change printer properties back to double sided as the default

Sorry, I changed the default size from system restore already. Don't recall what it was, but it was small (like 2%)

Hey guys, I was downloading a game onto my computer when it told me I had to scan and fix my hard drive. I did that, it told me to do it again, which I did, and now my action center won't show up and start and search don't work properly. I tried to run sfc, but it wouldn't run. Would a repair install fix this?

It definitely would not make things worse (I do it quite often). Give it a go and open a new thread explaining the problem in more detail if it doesn't work as it might get lost amongst other comments here...

Dang , I was really hoping this Repair Install would work for me but no such luck. My problem all along has been Windows Updates and it seems even an attempt to re-install, it refuses to get updates. The Repair Install got as far as "Checking for Updates" and that's as far as it would load. When it started I had hard-drive and router activity but after about 20 mins, nothing, just a circle of dots & "Checking for Updates"...... Looks like I might have to take an attempt at a "Reset" to see if I have any luck there..... Thanks for the "Play by Play" help Brink, not all of us are Geeks, some have to follow the leader.... lol

I'm about to try a repair install to cure various problems. Do I need to disable secure boot on my Dell laptop?

    Hello Steve, :)

Yeah, I would recommend to temporarily disable secure boot until finished to be safe.

Also, there are times when downloading updates at the start of a Repair Install can take quite some time.
