Hi Shawn, noting the tutorial says:
- this user's experience (assuming Onedrive was unlinked correctly as said in post #1) doesn't seem to match this. Noting KeithM's post, has anything changed? ThanksIf you disable OneDrive integration:
- Users can’t open the OneDrive app.
- The OneDrive app will not run at startup for all users.
- Windows Store apps can’t access OneDrive using the WinRT API.
- OneDrive doesn’t appear in the navigation pane in File Explorer for all users.
- OneDrive files aren’t kept in sync with the cloud.
- Users can’t automatically upload photos and videos from the camera roll folder.

Hey mate,
After some testing, if you disable OneDrive integration without turning off OneDrive backup for folders, the sync overlays on the folder(s) icon(s) will still show, but they don't actually still sync with online OneDrive.
Even if not needed, I would indeed recommend to turn off OneDrive backup for folders before disabling OneDrive integration just to no longer see the sync overlays, and to make sure the folders may not get locked in an "in use" type situation if you ever wanted to move the folder.
I'll update the tutorial now.

Last year I was looking for some files in My Docuemnst and My Pictures but found that they had all mysteriously vanished! After some effort I discovered that they had all been stolen from my computer and placed in OneDrive - something I had never heard of. I was furious.
I went through this tutorial, after first managing to copy all my files from OneDrive to a unconnected backup. Now it seems that the OneDrive system has discovered the and again stolen all my files. They are no longer on the renamed folder I moved them to from my backup. Stolen is the only way I can describe it as I have absolutely no desire to have my personal stuff stored outside my own premises, and I never gave anyone permission to do so.
How do I completely get rid of OneDrive and permanently prevent it having any interface with my computer?
I attach a screenshot showing how the policy is now reconfigured. Can I change that further to achieve my aim? (I presume that once again an Update has done the dirty!)

You can uninstall Onedrive. It's either an app or a program.
Before doing so, disable syncing and check you've got all the files you want in a safe place.
Your Onedrive online account should remain should you need to download files.
