How to Enable or Disable Save and Fill Personal Info in Microsoft Edge Chromium

Microsoft has adopted the Chromium open source project in the development of Microsoft Edge on the desktop to create better web compatibility. This new Microsoft Edge runs on the same Chromium web engine as the Google Chrome browser, offering you best in class web compatibility and performance.

The new Chromium based Microsoft Edge is supported on all versions of Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10, Windows Server (2016 and above), Windows Server (2008 R2 to 2012 R2), and macOS.

Autofill in Microsoft Edge helps you be more productive by letting you save addresses and other form entry data. When you visit a site and start to fill out a form, Microsoft Edge uses form fill info to match your saved autofill data to the form. Microsoft Edge offers form entry data you previously saved when you encounter similar forms.

You can save how you filled out your name, address, phone numbers, email addresses, shipping addresses, and other info in web forms, which makes filling similar forms in the future quicker and easier. If you turned on sync for autofill, deleting autofill data from a device while you are signed into Microsoft Edge removes the autofill data from all other devices that you are signed in the same account.

Addresses and other form entries are saved by default.

If you have turned on sync for your profile, your autofill data is synced across all versions of Microsoft Edge where you are signed in with the same credentials. When sync is turned on, all autofill data is stored on encrypted Microsoft servers. The autofill data stored on Microsoft servers is used only for sync purposes. If you turned on sync for Addresses and more, deleting autofill data from a device while you are signed into Microsoft Edge removes the autofill data from all other devices that you are signed in the same account.
