    @Matthew Wai

The machine in your screenshot has not yet tested for compatibility with the upgrade to Windows 11, if it had it would have a CO21H2 key there. If it has any notice about Windows 11 in Windows Update it would be this one, which indicates that Windows Update is aware of the Windows 11 upgrade, but has not yet tested if the PC meets the requirements. If it has no such notice, then your system does not yet know that Windows 11 is available. That may be due to using 3rd-party methods to control Window Update.

I see no such notice. I have long been using the following method to control Windows Update:
Using CMD script and VBScript to control Windows Update

    Thanks, this is cool.
I actually already had most of this from some other article but I was missing "ProductVersion" part. I guess they were trying to sneakily get me upgraded to 11. I'm kidding. Although technically I shouldn't need it being on LTSC but.... Y'know... One wipes their disk and installs LTSC because they thought they read that Microsoft wont bother them with updates but a couple times per year and that's just not the case at all. Windows update is still going to run all the freaking time unless you nail it down. Sure they're mostly security updates, I get that. The point is, I was trying to say STFU to windows update entirely. And that little update notify tray icon is annoying AF! Plus I'm still just as susceptible to crappy updates that break things like how KB5009543 recently broke peoples VPNs, for example. Or how another one (ending in 812) disabled the github software EdgeDeflector, which re-enabled windows search (sans Cortana) to direct web searches to FireFox rather than Bing. Microsoft has been playing dirty! I've found that the only way to avoid such problems is to disable updates and then read about them before letting them install. That can be time consuming though.

Thanks, I just set one of mine to version 1909.
I have been using stop windows update, which while it stops OS updates, it also stops all updates, so was thinking maybe I want other updates, just not update to the next versions.

well setting registry to keep it on 1909 did not work, it upgraded anyway to 20H2

I had to reinstall WMC etc... to make it function again, they have a new improved WMC installer now which also works on win 11, and I used that one, so I could let the PC go on to win11, but you know it is a pain to do extra work unnecessarily, and always a little bit of uncertainty.

    Hello,

Unfortunately, specifying a target feature version will still have the device automatically be updated once it is 60 days past end of service for its version.

    It's only a delay tactic.

Windows Media Centre? You're managing to keep that working & even reinstall it in a current Windows version?

By the way, do you realise that your diagram shows your email address? You might want to delete that diagram.
You might also consider changing what appears in that section of the WinVer diagram [there are no side-effects, nothing else uses the data]

    ok, can do that,
YES, good old WMC works great, been using it for years on 10.

WMC is here for 10 Windows 10 Media Center - TheGreenButton.tv
It is actively supported, and I pay for guide data from schedules direct, so I have the guide, record any TV I want, I have 8TB of space for recordings. I used windows media pooler which lets WMC use any drive for recordings, and Tuner Salad as I have 5 tuner cards in the PC.
The most recent WMC also supports windows 11.
We also like FireTV stick 4K.
WMC has no play ready available anymore, but since I uses an OTA antenna, I can see every program on broadcast TV, my region has over 50 channels. Going with a media center PC for OTA broadcasts was the option I chose when I cut satellite TV bill from my life.
Then internet streaming also came along, so I do that too, mostly Amazon Prime and Netflix using the Firestick.

I get 5.1 DD surround sound from WMC and the Firestick

Thanks for that info on WMC. I'll have to dig out my old notes to see what it was that I preferred about WMC to my other TV recording applications.
I've got a much better recording application these days [DVBViewer] but WMC might still trump it.
I have a vague recollection that WMC would respond to changes in the EPG so if the TV schedule changed after I set it up for a programme then WMC would change with it.
I also have a vague recollection that WMC allowed me to set a series to be recorded so that it would detect it even if its transmission times were irregular.

    All the best,
    Denis
