How to Add or Remove Command Prompt Open Here Context Menu in Windows 10

A command prompt is an entry point for typing computer commands in the Command Prompt window. By typing commands at the command prompt, you can perform tasks on your computer without using the Windows graphical interface.

This tutorial will show you how to add or remove a Command Prompt 'Open here' and 'Open here as administrator' context menu in File Explorer for all users in Windows 10.

You must be signed in as an administrator to add or remove the Command Prompt "Open here" context menus.

The Command Prompt "Open here" context menus will be available when you right click on a folder or drive, and when you right click click on the background of a folder, drive, library background, or desktop.

I have merged this file: Add_Command_Prompt_Open_here_context_menu.reg
When I click on "Open here", it works.
When I click on "Open here as administrator", nothing happens.
    What is wrong?

My bad. I used the "L" variable on background instead of "V".

I've updated the .reg file in step 2 for this.

Please download and merge the new version to see how that works for you now. No need to do anything else.

Hello hello. I believe due to a recent Windows 10 update, the "Open here as administrator" is not working.

That or the download file reverted to an earlier version.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.
