Sure, you can if you like to be safe.
After setting a restore point and exporting that registry entry, I deleted it and restarted the computer, noting worked, some software needed reinstallation and a variety of other issues. I reinstalled the exported registry entries and everything ran as before. So I still have the original issue. I appreciate all the help you provided even if it didn't solve the problem.
This is a bit drastic, but a repair install should be able to fix it.

Thanks, I'll try that out over the weekend.
I just wanted to add that I had this issue with the Windows Store suddenly no longer able to install apps (it would get stuck in the downloading phase, no progress, eventually throwing an error), found a tip to run WSReset.exe, and the command failed to do anything. But rather than going into the registry, I ran this command in the Power Shell (source):
PowerShell -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted -Command "& {$manifest = (Get-AppxPackage *WindowsStore*).InstallLocation + '\AppxManifest.xml' ; Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register $manifest}"

This did the trick. After this, the Windows Store had reset and all pending apps were wiped clean. I then selected one at a time and they did install successfully.

Part two wrecked my pc. Now it's a black screen upon typing password and logging in. To fix this I have to reset once and then the next login will work normally.
Can someone please help me fix this?
Hello KaiKaiKAi, and welcome to Ten Forums.
It sounds like you may have some other issue at hand since this will only clear and reset the Microsoft Store cache, and couldn't cause a black screen like that.
If you have Fast Startup turned on, turn it off and restart to see if that may sort it.

If not, then you could try doing a system restore using a restore point dated before you had any issues to try an undo them.

Thanks for the tutorial Shawn, Part Two fixed an issue where Amazon Prime Video for Windows wouldn't reinstall after uninstalling it.
Thank you sooo much, Brink. I've finally been able to solve this, and even been able to install Edge Canary! Just when I was about to give up after trying each and every solution I could find on the Internet and several reinstallations. Why, oh why didn't it occur to me to check the always reliable Tenforums before?
