I just did a Repair, but it didn't fix it.

I don't think I have any 3rd party programs like that installed. I have Notepad++ but that's it. I previously had Office XP (yeah) installed, but I uninstalled it before installing Office 2019.
I must admit that I'm also at a lost of why it's not showing in the New context menu.

Do you think Microsoft's tech support would be any help with this? Should I bother reaching out to them?

It can't hurt to try other than time.

Just to rule something out. Do you have Calibre installed?

So I tried deinstalling Calibre and repairing Office and the menu entry still does not appear. Calibre was the only thing I could think of using the docx files.

I just did a full uninstall of Office using this Microsoft tool https://aka.ms/SaRA-officeUninstallFromPC, but after the reinstall, Word still wasn't showing up.

I also did a full uninstall with RevoUninstaller of Notepad++ before the reinstall just to be safe, but that didn't make a difference.

    Hello @Brink ,

First, apologies if this is the WRONG place for it.

I have noticed that besides MS Office, a lot of people use Apache OpenOffice.

The below REG files will Remove or Add the entries to the Desktop > New > Context Menu. The entries are automatically added during installation. It appears that Database - Access and Formula are NOT automatically added.

I thought that this would be a good addition for those that use Apache OpenOffice. It took a while so I hope it is OK.
