How to Add Services to Control Panel in Windows 7, 8, and 10


A service is an application type that runs in the system background without a user interface and is similar to a UNIX daemon process. Services provide core operating system features, such as Web serving, event logging, file serving, printing, cryptography, and error reporting.

The Services (services.msc) Microsoft Management Console allows you to start, stop, restart, enable, disable, and configure services in Windows.

Services is not in the Control Panel by default, but you can add it.

This tutorial will show you how to add Services to the Control Panel for all users to open it from in Windows 7, Windows 8, or Windows 10.

You must be signed in as an administrator to add or remove Services for the Control Panel.

EXAMPLE: Services and Services in Control Panel (icons view) and Control Panel (category view)





Here's How:

1 Do step 2 (add) or step 3 (remove) below for what you would like to do.

2 To Add Services to Control Panel

A) Click/tap on the Download button below to download the file below, and go to step 4 below.

3 To Remove Services from Control Panel

This is the default setting.

A) Click/tap on the Download button below to download the file below, and go to step 4 below.

Remove_Services_from_Control_Panel.reg

Download

4 Save the .reg file to your desktop.

5 Double click/tap on the downloaded .reg file to merge it.

6 When prompted, click/tap on Run, OK (UAC), Yes, and OK to approve the merge.

7 If you like, you can delete the downloaded .reg file if you like.

8 If the Control Panel is currently open, then close and reopen it to apply.
