It happened again. Since the profile always loads after a restart, I'm starting to think that Fast Startup is the culprit, which I have now disabled.

Disabling Fast Startup has seemingly fixed the problem.

Wow. I am shocked that Fast Startup was the culprit, but I can't say I'm not surprised. I always turn that off on every computer I work on.

    Hello,

Yes, as long as it's an administrator account.

When I paste wmic useraccount get domain, name, sid into cmd I do not find any sids with test beside the name, nor ending with
the number tutorial selected. Nor any DESKTOP reference. All sids reference my laptop name.

Does this mean I cannot use this process ?

"test" was just an example that Brink used.

    SIDs differ. Brink used examples.

They reference user accounts. And the Registry checks allow you to find the user folder path for each user account.
Please post your latest wmic useraccount get domain, name, sid results and explain how your computer name comes into things.
If you are referring to LAPTOP-QIGMIR90 then that is a coincidence caused by the user accounts or user folder paths used in the past. It is not significant for your current problem.

I seem to have lost or entered incorrectly a reply re this tutorial. Though it shows up in my Posts.

When I enter the command wmic user domain, name, sid into cmd
my results all began with HPLAPTOP not DESKTOP and I had no entries with test included nor any ending in 1003.
    Should I have ?

    You mean
    Code:
    wmic useraccount get domain,name,sid

That gives results in 3 columns.
The first column is the ComputerName, the second column is each user account's UserName and the third column is each user account's SID.

The earlier results you posted in your other thread indicate that, as you've said above, you do not have any SID ending in 1003. There is no reason why you should ever have any particular number - are you possibly being misled by an example Brink provided?
