    @Brink

I know about "Sync" option. I have no online Microsoft account, I have just one local admin account with no "Sync" option.

As I realized Microsoft just hides the folders and registry keys and does not clean any folder or key about their native products!

    Hi @Brink

Why NTP in Edge (version 86.0.622.58 OB x64) is always showing SS-1 below (screenshot no. 1 below) message and why it is (NTP) always revert to default settings after Edge restart (SS-2 below, I had set "Language" to "English (US)" and "New tab tips" to "Off" and after Edge restart it reverts to "English_International" and "New tab tips" to "On", my system local user default language is set to English_US)?

"Show quick links" and "Content" is set to "Off", "Send do not track" is "On" and "Tracking prevention" is "Balanced" and "Always use -Strict- tracking..." is "On". "Clear browsing data on close" is set as SS-4 below.

Could it possible to set NTP as a complete blank white page? Is there any trick to disable "msn" domain check at Edge NTP (beside changing the "host" file) and prevent NTP's msn domain to check cookies?

    Hello @atinfo,

It's hard to say without knowing what circumstances you are seeing the SS-1 message. Is that for one of Microsoft's websites? If so, this would be a standard disclaimer notice.

Do you have sync turned on for your profile in Microsoft Edge? If so it may be possible it's syncing the other setting.

This is how NTP looks to me with these settings.

Every time I open Edge this page (SS-1 below) appears. I click on "List of Vendors" and I disable "Allow All Consent" and click on "Manage Preferences" to confirm my choices!

I realized this message appears because "New tab tips" (SS-2 in my previous post) is on! I disable it but after Edge restart it reverts back to "On"!

I don't know why these two options ("Language & content" and "New tab tips" in NTP's Advanced option) revert back to their default after Edge restart.

I have "Sync" option "Off" for both Windows and Edge user profile.

The "We care about your privacy" message in your screenshot is indeed a required standard legal disclosure about cookie usage and such from the site. Nothing to do, but ignore, click "I Accept", or click on the "Manage Preferences" link to see what is offered to set for that site.

If it doesn't remember your settings, it could be caused by an installed ad-blocker or cookie issue.

It's most likely for Bing since that's what NTP uses for News and background.

I click "I Accept" and after Edge restart it appears again!

I had disabled all Edge extensions.

Yes! I know it's all about "Bing" that wants to appear in NTP, somehow! (while using cookies). I don't know why NTP's advanced options revert to default after Edge restart and I don't know how to solve this problem .

I had changed "edge://flags/#edge-ntp-blended" option to "Disabled" but nothing!

I have set hosts file to "0.0.0.0 ntp.msn.com" and Edge startup page to "about:blank" and it (Edge) starts super fast but NTP takes long time to be open .

The hosts file entry is most likely the cause of NTP taking so long to open. Might test without the entry in hosts file.

If you like, you could try completely resetting Microsoft Edge to default to see if that may help let this setting stick.

Yes! The hosts file entry is the cause of lag (NTP). I have disabled it (the "MSN" entry).

Many thanks .Your suggestion worked (resetting Edge...), but actually it didn't worked , my step by step troubleshooting after resetting Edge worked . I changed Edge settings one by one and I realized by turning off "Cookies and other site date" option in "Privacy" section (SS-1 below) the problem will be solve and NTP's Advanced option remembers my both choices ("Language" and "Tips", as SS-3 below).

I want to know why Edge has different behaviour when I enable "Cookie..." option in "Privacy" section and add "msn.com" and "ntp.msn.com" domains to exclusion list (SS-2 below)! Actually it should work but doesn't work! After adding those two domains to exclusion list, the NTP's Advanced option just remembers my "Language & content" choice and change "New tab tips" option to "On" (SS-3 below)!

I don't know why Microsoft insist on msn injection in NTP and don't let user to set complete blank page as NTP...

Great news. I'm happy to hear it helped to lead you to the cause.

The setting is stored as a cookie, so when "Cookies and other site data" on close option, it cleared the cookie for this setting, thus resetting the setting back to default.
