Did you already try uninstalling the update instead?
    FYI:
    • The new Microsoft Edge does not support the removal of this update.

Recover old Edge when Edge Chromium uninstall not possible

Well, it is possible to recover the old Edge, even when you cant uninstall Edge Chromium normally. You need to delete both folders (you may need to take ownership first of the folder):
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge"
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\EdgeUpdate"

    Then you need to open elevated powershell and type Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers -Name Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml” -Verbose}
After that you can go into Programs and uninstall Edge Chromium and then old Edge reappears
And it is a good idea to install Edge beta because then you have both browsers without any need to edit gpo or registry. There is a method to block Edge Chromium update for registry and gpo too.

I have found a way of enabling legacy edge alongside new edge on 20H2.

    1) Set NoRemove to 0

    2) set allowsxs to 1 as per this tutorial

    3) You can now uninstall new Edge from Apps Menu. Uninstall it.

    4) Make sure UAC is switched on to level 3 - crucial

    5) Download new edge installer and run it

    6) Select no from UAC to letting it make changes.

    7) Click no to install without admin priviledges

You can now run legacy and old.

I can confirm the B) Option to Undo Edge Legacy Side-by-Side and only keep the Chromium version is still working, after reading the reminder Edge Legacy will no longer receive security updates in two months time.

Thank you all for letting us use Edge Legacy for a little longer (and for webdevs to troubleshoot).

EDIT: version numbers, to make this post more useful!

    Chromium Edge 88.0.705.56 64-bit

    Working alternative, August, 2021

This bare-bones browser is built using EdgeHTML - it's not ideal, but it does work, is the real engine, and at least DevTools **can** attach to it:- https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/p/ja...r/9nblggh1z7vx
