    Hello Brink
Thank you for taking the time to respond
The files are on a server, sorted by date, no groups
I just moved to desktop and the result is the same
One weird issue is I do not have the double "image preview" in the menu that is mentioned with the sort order registry change
I did re-download the registry key and compare to what I am using
    Restore_Windows_Photo_Viewer_ALL_USERS_with_Sort_order_fix.reg
    They are identical
No biggie another issue for another day
    Have a great Holiday!

OK a DOH! moment, to sort you need to use the OPEN entry and not the IMAGE PREVIEW entry which is what I was using!

I might check that out. Thanks.

Windows Photo Viewer may not be available in the near future, so a light photo viewer replacement would be good.
The Windows Photos app is a poor replacement for a viewer. You can't even scroll through photos with your keyboard arrow keys.

I did as seen on Fix: Image Preview missing from the Context Menu in Windows 10 | Gear up Windows 11/10 and restarted windows. I see preview in context menu, but it doesn't work. I see text (translated from my language): "windows can't access this device, folder or file. You may not have the appropriate rights to access the item."

Thanks again for this fix which I used on Win 10

Just wondering if it works on Win 11 before I pull the trigger on the upgrade

I presume the upgrade will wreck the fix on my current Win 10 (?) but can it be refixed again after the upgrade?

    You're most welcome.

It will indeed still work with Windows 11 if you should need to reapply it after the upgrade.
