Hi Sean. This is my first post!
Many thanks for this, it's great to get it back again. I used option two and "To Restore Windows Photo Viewer for All Users". However, I have an issue you may be able to help with. When I right click an image, I get the following - gap varies: Restore Windows Photo Viewer in Windows 10-2021-04-09_11-50-27.pngRestore Windows Photo Viewer in Windows 10-2021-04-09_11-50-45.pngRestore Windows Photo Viewer in Windows 10-2021-04-09_11-50-58.png
I've tried running your uninstall reg key but the gaps are still there.
    Any ideas?
    Best, David

P.S. Sometimes the problem is not there. For example right click exe, zip files, shortcuts, no gaps.
    Office docs, gap is 3
    Folders, gap is 1
    Images, txt, gap is 2
The gaps do actually point somewhere. With say office files, the top gap opens save as Adobe PDF and the 2nd gap opens save as PDF
With a txt file, the top gap opens adobe pro

Hello David, and welcome to Ten Forums.

It looks like the gaps in the context menu are from shell extensions added by 3rd party apps. It will be unrelated to this tutorial since you had them before.

You should be able to use the same method in the tutorial below to help find and remove these gaps.

I'll have a look at that thread then thanks. I don't think the gaps were there before but maybe I'm wrong.
I've been fiddling around with this most of The morning and the issue seems to be just problems with Adobe. I used Autoruns (Microsoft) and repaired Adobe Pro and I think I've found a solution - I disabled an Adobe Context Menu item. Fingers crossed.

By the way, because of a windows update, any printing performed by Windows Photo Viewer was faulty - it missed out the middle. There is more info here: https://www.windowslatest.com/2021/0...rinting-issue/

    Thanks one again Guru

    Hey there!

I used the "Sort Order Fix", without success. It still goes through the pictures by name instead of how it is sorted in windows. Anything I might be missing?

Hello DocFrog, and welcome to Ten Forums.

I just tested on my system using step 3 in Option 2, and when I open an image in a folder with Windows Photo Viewer, it cycles through the images in the same order they are sorted by in the folder for me.

Is this the same download you used?

It is indeed, yes. But on my journey looking for a fix I have also tried numerous other registry changes, most of which were copied from here anyway but is there a chance that any of them might be interfering, even if I used yours again at the end?

You might test closing Windows Photo Viewer, toggling the sort by view of the folder to change and back, and then open an image in the folder with Windows Photo Viewer to see if cycles the same order.

Tried that, no luck. Are there any specific registry keys I should double check are/aren't changed?

None other than what's in the .reg file here.
