I just registered on this forum for the express purpose of saying how incredibly helpful it has been for me to have found Shawn Brink's instructions about how to restore the right-clickable "Preview" option on File Explorer's context menu that was eliminated from Windows 10, which I have just started using. I mostly use the new Win10 computer for dealing with photographs. Not to be able to zoom in and out, and quickly sort through JPGs one after another, from File Explorer was making this new computer and OS almost useless to me. With the restoration of Windows Photo Viewer, the world is spinning on its axis again. I could not be more grateful.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Hello akola, and welcome to Ten Forums.

I'm glad the .reg file helped.

You might see if this below may help with deploying a mandatory profile, but I haven't done it myself.

I had done this last year but it disappeared with 1903. I just did it now that I am on 1909 and works great.

    Thanks,
    Jim

Hi all. I updated from win7 pro 64 to win10 pro 64 following the tutorial here. I'm trying to change to photo viewer and started following the steps listed on page 1 of this post. There isn't a "default apps" listed on the left side of the pane. Do I try and do option 1? Thanks.
    Mark

Edit: disregard my question. I started on the wrong section. Needed to start pn the "apps & features" page
