Thanks for your help with this, making it available to all users, certainly works with LTSC 2019 1809.

Just got to get those default associations right for all staff now.

I am setting up lab machines with LTSC 2019 1809 (Build 17763.652) and when I create a new test user, Photo Viewer is available, but not pre-selected as the default jpeg handler. The files still open with Paint. Is this by design or am I doing something wrong? I use the ALL USER with Sort order fix reg file.

Hello David, and welcome to Ten Forums.

This is normal. The .reg file restores Windows Photo Viewer, but each user will still need to set Windows Photo Viewer as the default app if wanted.

Thank you Brink, for the welcome and the response. Don't know what took me so long to join, have been using the site for years. You put out an amazing amount of useful stuff- thank you!

I'm the desktop guy at a small college. Lots of lab setups. So ... is there a way to pre-assign Photo Viewer default status in Win 10

I'm not sure how to set default app associations for all existing users, but you might take a look at this below to see if it may help.

You could use the method below to set default app associations, but it will only affect new users created afterwards.

Many, many, many thanks to Shawn Brink for the Restore "Preview" post!

I just registered on this forum for the express purpose of saying how incredibly helpful it has been for me to have found Shawn Brink's instructions about how to restore the right-clickable "Preview" option on File Explorer's context menu that was eliminated from Windows 10, which I have just started using. I mostly use the new Win10 computer for dealing with photographs. Not to be able to zoom in and out, and quickly sort through JPGs one after another, from File Explorer was making this new computer and OS almost useless to me. With the restoration of Windows Photo Viewer, the world is spinning on its axis again. I could not be more grateful.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
