Good. Sometimes, those updates will reset some stuff back to default.

Brink is alway helping and I am so appreciative of his posts! I was able to get "Windows Photo Viewer" but the icon for the photos is not correct. Hello Silvera, :)

As a test, do the thumbnails for the image files show correctly using a different size (ex: Medium) for the icon?

They are all the same sizeRestore Windows Photo Viewer in Windows 10-restore-windows-photo-viewer-windows-10-page-29-apps-features-tutorials-google-chrome.jpg I may not be understanding what you mean by thumbnails.

The thumbnail is the image you see on the icon.

See if using a medium, large, or extra large icon size will show it. Usually the small icon size (used in list and details) don't show the image.

I had do no idea you could change the size. From the image I posted above they are both the same size. Prior to the crash the icon was always shown correctly I recovered the Windows Photo Viewer from the registry using a posting you provided on how to retrieve WPV.

Are they showing the image for you now with a larger icon size?
