I had this fixed but I had to re-image & I lost it somehow, I got preview to work but it opens multiple windows (the # of the files selected at preview) + it views all the files not the select ones, I know there was a registry entry I had to add to get this to work but I can't find it now & I don't how to get this to stay in a single application upon previewing. :-/

    Found the fix:

Thank you Blackbeen. Option Two has been updated to include the original "Image Preview" context menu for Windows Photo Viewer now. :)

Brink, a shorter version of this reg code was posted by 'Edwin' in another tenforums thread, Is Windows Photo Viewer gone? then was reposted in a Superuser.com forum thread, https://superuser.com/questions/9476...dows-10/948344 and proved very popular judging by the number of upvotes.

This same code was reproduced on yet another forum thread, (How do you make Windows Photo Viewer the default in Windows 10 - Microsoft Community) where the poster says he exported the registry keys from his Windows 8.1 PC. So that seems to be the origin. The poster reports: "Now if I right-click an image and select "Open with > Choose another app > More apps" I see "Windows Photo Viewer" in the list and can choose it to be the default image viewer."

    My question:
What are the functional differences, from an end-user point of view, between your reg edit and this shorter version?

    Hello Alex, :)

The version in this tutorial includes the same as what you linked to, but is more updated for more file extensions.

That last (huge) Windows update removed this & messed up some other things, Annoying!

    Hello Blackbeen,

Sorry to hear that. Were you able to restore Windows Photo Viewer again using this tutorial?
