It’s been “corrupt/missing file” or just a generic error. It says hit F8 or restart, but restarting just gets the same error.
The “Windows\system32\winload.efi is missing or corrupt” error message is displayed because your computer either booting from hard drive or Windows Setup Media corrupt. You can use Windows 10 Media Creation Tool to create new Windows Setup Media.

That is exactly the link where I downloaded a new Windows setup onto a USB stick today. Right now I am downloading an ISO file to burn to a DVD and to try that.

You can also use Qemu Simple Boot to test if the Windows Setup USB flash drive bootable.

Why do you suppose I'm getting this error when booting up Windows if my drive is MBR?

If the Bootrec /RebuildBcd command fails then enter the following commands in Command Prompt:

    Code:
    bcdedit /export C:\BCD_Backup
    c:
    cd boot
    attrib bcd -s -h -r
    ren c:\boot\bcd bcd.old
    bootrec /RebuildBcd
Is it normal for this to work, but if I run /scanos or /rebuildbcd straight after, it shows 0 Windows installations again?
