By 'update my system' do you mean you just clean installed the latest build and version on your system without changing anything else? Or do you mean you upgraded the hardware, such as the mother board or CPU?

If you just did a clean install then it should be simple to upgrade to Pro. Any machine supplied with W10 Home pre-installed by the OEM has a key for W10 Home embedded in the bios firmware. A clean install finds this key and will automatically install Home without asking you for a key.

Because you have previously had Pro activated on this machine it has a digital licence for Pro on Microsoft's activation servers. Once Home has installed you can upgrade to Pro by changing the installed key to the generic W10 Pro key. It will activate from the existing digital licence.

    Hi,
I have a question concerning my asus tablet that's currently running windows 10 home 32-bit that's digitally activated. Upon using an app to view the product key it shows I'm running a retail version of windows, this might be a dumb question, but it won't be the first one I've ever asked, would it be possible for me to update this tablet to the pro version of windows 10 ? At this point in time I really can't remember is the is a 32-bit pro version of windows 10 or not ?
    Thanks,
    David

    Hello David,

Yes, you can upgrade from Home to Pro if you like. You'll just need a Pro key to activate with like in the tutorial.
