How to Change Data Update Speed in Task Manager in Windows 10
Task Manager can be used to view and manage your processes, performance statistics, app history, users, processes details, and services in Windows 10.
The update speed in Task Manager is how frequently the data in the Task Manager is automatically updated (refreshed).
You can select High (.5 second), Normal (1 second), Low (4 seconds), or Pause for your update interval speed.
If you select Pause, the data does not get updated until you select High , Normal, Low, or you click/tap on View > Refresh now.

1 Open Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Escape) in more details (Alt+D) view.

Curiously, the update speed on my Task Manager (Windows 10 Pro) changed to 5 seconds, and disregards the interval settings entirely. It used to update about once a second, but I shut the machine down last night and today when it powered up, Task Manager is updating at 5 second intervals only.
Another odd thing is the Up Time is showing the cumulative time from the previous session (14 days) plus the hours it's been running today. Both of my Windows 10 PCs are showing cumulative hours. I thought this counter resets when you reboot. Apparently not.

Odd. It will be interesting to hear what others are experiencing with the Task Manager update speed.
Usually, the uptime counter should reset after a reboot.

I found the cause of the slow update interval: The internet was out over here after a storm for a couple of days. When I stopped tethering off my 4G phone, the interval updates at normal speeds again.
Curiously though, when I shut down the machines because I was shutting off the generator for the overnight, the next day when I powered up both PCs, the cume time picked up where it left off.
