hi, the registry key works for turning off "allow apps to access your location"
but above the page <<Privacy / Location> there's a button : change , if you press it, a button to turn off/on the whole settings is shown. <it's labeled "Location for this device is on/off>
How to control and turn this off via registry?
    Possible? thanks.

You can find out for yourself. Download regshot
regshot - Browse Files at SourceForge.net

Close all apps, don't do anything while testing.
    Take 1st shot
    Toggle the Setting
    Take 2nd shot

Look at the list of differences. If it's a registry key, you'll see the value and what changed :)

Thank you, I already use Microsoft ProcessMonitor but it returns a huge number of keys, almost impossible to find most of the times.

Yeah, process monitor can be tricky to see what you need until you add a ton of custom filters etc.

Some other tools to investigate things: Process Hacker, RamMap, Process Explorer (enhanced task manager).

I also use Total Commander and Syncback for file/folder managing/syncing/difference tracking.

To save installation management and auto-updating, I use PortableApps for downloading stuff. Just drop it in your Documents folder and moving machines becomes a breeze. Also the Portableapps install list is something to peruse/find new tools :)

I think in early build the key was:
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\lfsvc\Service\Configuration]
    "Status"=dword:00000000
How to find if this key still valid in 1903 and if yes, what does it do?

That is for disabling the Geolocation Service service instead. It would still be valid in 1903, but is not for the same setting from the tutorial in 1st post.

Thanks dear Brink, I was so lucky to find you :)
Is that mentioned in another tutorial?
I mean this key has direct effect on something from Settings?

Disabling that service would effectively disable Location services. Sort of like turning off a breaker instead of the light switch.

It just depends on which method you prefer.
