Hmmm. On other forums it is claimed the portablebaselayer drive is as a result of sandbox installation NOT reserved storage so I did a simple test.

I uninstalled sandbox and the drive disappeared.

I reinstalled sandbox and the drive reappeared.

So, have we misinterpreted its functionality?

How do you "uninstall" Sandbox? I'm running Home and Sandbox fails for me, so I unchecked it from Windows Features,, but the Portable Base Layer (PBL) remains after a reboot.

Could it be that once Sandbox is installed on Home the PBL is permanent?

    Hello Steven,

You should see the change after you upgrade the device to the next available build.

That's ok. It will change the next time you get a new cumulative update since it will change the build number.

All you need to do is reinstall or wait for the next CU, if you already modified the registry.

I meant uninstall/reinstall the last CU, if you didn't clean up after it. Better to just wait for the next CU to be offered, should be next week or two. You'll get back all the reserve storage space.
