I am in the process of creating a config file and there is now a new prompt at the end (~2.11) that asks for one to select the Default File Format. Choices are:
    • Keep Current format
    • Open Office XML format
    • Open Document format
You'd want option 2, Open Office XML.

Assuming you're still doing this, I could sure use a hand since I'm pretty XML dumb, and assuming the tool you linked still even works with 2016 (seeing as it only provides XML's for 365 and 2019 at this point).

I've got a Pro Plus 2016 key, and only need to have Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher installed.

Hello, I have read the two excellent and detailed articles "Office Customization Tool – Office Deployment Made Easy" (Jan 2019) and "Custom install or change Microsoft Office with Office Deployment Tool" (this thread - but the comments area appears to be inactive or outdated) and I would like to utilize both the ODT and OCT for the latest/current "Microsoft 365 PERSONAL" subscription product if possible.

But, I need to know what to use for the exact "product ID" because on the following microsoft page "List of Product IDs which are supported by the Office Deployment Tool for Click-to-Run" it says "If you use the wrong product ID, you can't activate Office."

As of Apr. 2021, the online Office Customization Tool has no dropdown choice for Microsoft 365 PERSONAL. Is it possible to utilize OCT and ODT for Microsoft 365 PERSONAL or "Family" subscriptions? If so what would be the exact Product ID?
