    Hello @Brink

It's been a while, any reg tweak or anything to tweak this enhanced search by default discovered so far?

Also, I disabled Defender completely by NTLite still everytime I boot, I get this notification immideately.

    any trick to stop this?

P.S: I use ESET & ESET firewall is always on so that's a false reporting for ESET.

    Hello @SM03,

Just to turn enhanced search on and off using option 2.

You could see if disabling Windows Security notifications may stop that.

Thanks for replying, I ll try & revert here about the outcome for both.

BTW, about the enhanced searche feature, last time I asked you about this back in June, on 17th June 2019, you replied that's not possible (on that time) [reply #19] so now you're referring me to the 2nd option so does that mean that the situation has changed & its now have a working solution to set the search mode from default classic to enhaced since the very begining of Win installation via merging that into ISO's registry? Asking this becuase even I can see this post/OP has been last edited 2 weeks ago, although IDK what's modification been done.

You can, but you would have to either restart the computer or "Windows Search" service to apply afterwards.

Well I checked that option (2) and it seems its been all the same like I see & did last time, nothing has changed. Also, if you can remeber (if not then read, I've posted/written here) that I've already tried adding/merging that regfile into the Win 10 (v1903) last time with NTLite so see whether its been effective since the windows installation & first boot or not, but it faild to deliver that so I waited & still waiting for the solution & now after couple of months, I thought to get back on it to check if anything have added as a solution or not.

See our earlier comments regarding this on this OP starting from 12th May 2019 from post #16 to #19. You'll get a better idea what I am talking about in case you forgot.

Hello all, @Brink, Thanks for another fine tutorial

Using 19041.508 - I just noticed my search setting got changed from Enhanced to Classic again.

I'm not sure exactly when this happened, but it's happened in the past many months ago. Indexing takes hours/days to finish again after changing back to Enhanced as I have a 2 TB HDD along with my 250 GB boot SSD.

Any ideas on why or how to prevent this or automatically monitor for it happening? Anyone else experienced this problem?

I changed back to Enhanced via Search Settings before finding this tutorial and the registry value in OP reflects Enhanced as expected.

    Thanks for any ideas

    Hello Steve,

It may have been changed by an update. It's not uncommon for a Windows Update to sometimes reset system settings. It is odd since Enhanced is the default setting though.
