I'm not sure what else to suggest either. Hopefully, it will be fixed for you in the next app version update.

If you like, post a link to your feedback here to help get it upvoted more to hopefully help make it stand out more.

Another solution ?? to see/transfer photos Android Phone to Win10

Sorry to butt in after so long since the first post. I cannot say the what or why of this; I had this query & came straight to Ten Forums after success eluded me.
Big Thanks to wife who chanced upon phone 'Notifications' when PC was USB connected to phone (?Tethered?). A new notification appeared which stated something along the lines that 'Android system - USB file transfer turned OFF ^ Tap for more options. That tap led to turning ON transfer, and selecting Files or Photos, and then the source and the destination for the transfer(s).

I found 155 raw pics to select in Google Photos actually did transfer very quickly to my PC attached to a Passport type USB SSD. And an appropriate Month Folder was created as a bonus.

I had not installed any new App. Android ver 9 was/is running on the phone.

    Hello muymalestado,

Usually, you could just do what you did and connect the phone directly to your PC via USB, open your phone in File Explorer on the PC, and copy over anything you want to the PC.

If you sync or save the photos on your Android phone to say your Google Drive or OneDrive, you could copy them over to the PC via Google Drive or OneDrive.

It´s also possible to sync the photos folder in the phone (Phone > DCIM > Camera) with a photos folder in the computer, using a file synchronizer such as FreeFileSync. This way, only the new photos are copied.
