Enable or Disable Microsoft Edge Pre-launching in Windows 10

It was very simple. Don't forget that the CCleaner can do this for yourself !

A simple method to use :
Tools >> Start-up
Next step is to disable all CCleaner tasks of their boxes (Windows, Scheduled Tasks, Context Menu).

Minor question - Why does the Enable....reg file have lines for both HKEY_CURRENT_USER\… and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\… , while the Disable.....reg only adds the DWORD to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\… ?

Running Windows 10 1809 enterprise. Curious to know if you have seen the Edge browser not only preloading, but upon logging on with user account for the first time, Edge is preloading and actually opens and attempts to go the following URL

We are not controlling the preload with GP, but we are setting a homepage, we are disabling welcome page.

If i close that Edge browser window, open Edge again, it goes to our home page we have set with policy.

I have found numerous articles referring to the msn.com/spartan page but none stating it is actually opening the browser on first logon.

Hoping you have run across this before and might have some advice.

Nice article on the preload. Since this is by design for MS, even though we could increase logon performance by not preloading Edge, my fear is that subsequent Feature Updates would revert this back again, so why fight the battle. Like so many things in Windows 10, you have to choose your battles and let the engine run as MS has designed it....whether we like it or not.
