How to Turn On or Off Sticky Keys in Windows 10

When Sticky Keys is turned on, you can press a modifier key (SHIFT, CTRL, or ALT) and then another key in sequence rather than at the same time, to enter shifted (modified) characters and other key combinations. This way, you can press a modifier key and have it remain active until another key is pressed.

By default pressing a modifier key once latches the key down until the user presses a non-modifier key or clicks a mouse button. Pressing a modifier key twice locks the key until the user presses the key a third time.

This tutorial will show you how to turn on or off Sticky Keys and adjust its settings for your account in Windows 10.

For a Windows 11 version of this tutorial, see:

Unfortunately, the "Flags" string value will vary depending on the other Sticky Keys settings you have turned on/off.

I would prefer separate registry values per setting as well.

I tried it anyway, and thus far it seems like the values work. Probably as long as the rest is set to installation default.

There should be a list of corresponding value data. I found some:

"510" is the default value data in my version 20H2.
    Code:
    (REG Add "HKCU\Control Panel\Accessibility\StickyKeys" /V "Flags" /T REG_SZ /D "510" /F)

"506" = Disable "Turn on Sticky Keys when SHIFT is pressed five times".
    Code:
    (REG Add "HKCU\Control Panel\Accessibility\StickyKeys" /V "Flags" /T REG_SZ /D "506" /F)

"507" = Turn on Sticky Keys and disable "Turn on Sticky Keys when SHIFT is pressed five times".
    Code:
    (REG Add "HKCU\Control Panel\Accessibility\StickyKeys" /V "Flags" /T REG_SZ /D "507" /F)

"511" = Turn on Sticky Keys and Turn on Sticky Keys when SHIFT is pressed five times.
    Code:
    (REG Add "HKCU\Control Panel\Accessibility\StickyKeys" /V "Flags" /T REG_SZ /D "511" /F)

"503" = Turn on Sticky Keys and Turn on Sticky Keys when SHIFT is pressed five times and disable "Display a warning message when turning a setting on" and enable "Make a sound when turning a setting on or off".
    Code:
    (REG Add "HKCU\Control Panel\Accessibility\StickyKeys" /V "Flags" /T REG_SZ /D "503" /F)

"495" = Turn on Sticky Keys and Turn on Sticky Keys when SHIFT is pressed five times and enable "Display a warning message when turning a setting on" and disable "Make a sound when turning a setting on or off".
    Code:
    (REG Add "HKCU\Control Panel\Accessibility\StickyKeys" /V "Flags" /T REG_SZ /D "495" /F)

"487" = Turn on Sticky Keys and Turn on Sticky Keys when SHIFT is pressed five times and disable "Display a warning message when turning a setting on" and disable "Make a sound when turning a setting on or off".
    Code:
    (REG Add "HKCU\Control Panel\Accessibility\StickyKeys" /V "Flags" /T REG_SZ /D "487" /F)

    Hi, Brink.
I have found all registry key values of the setting of Use Sticky Keys.
If I had no mistakes, the quantities of String Value named as Flags should be 64.
Please you see the text file as attached.

All registry key values of the setting of Use Sticky Keys.txt

    Best regards,
    Steven.
