How to Remove a Language in Windows 10
In Windows 10, you can add different languages to install and use for the display language, text-to-speech (Narrator), speech recognition, handwriting, and keyboard layout.
This tutorial will show you how to completely uninstall a language for your account in Windows 10.
Here's How:
1 Open Settings, and click/tap on the Time & Language icon.
2 Click/tap on Language on the left side. (see screenshot below)
3 Click/tap on the language (ex: "English (United Kingdom)") you want to remove on the right side, and click/tap on Remove.
If the language you want to remove is listed at the top of your language list as the "default" language, you will need to click/tap on the down arrow so it's no longer listed at the top, select another language, and then select the language you want to remove again.
4 If the language you are removing is currently the set display language, then click/tap on Remove language to confirm. (see screenshot below)

Hello Shawn and thank you so much for the very clear tutorial on how to remove a language. But I don't see in my Win10 the various icons and buttons you show in the screenshots. I wonder if it might be because I have the (riddled with errors) Windows 10 build 19042.928 (20H2) while you show Windows 10 build 17686? I've spent days trying to delete 2 languages I have no clue how got in my computer.
I tried every suggestion I read in the internet and none deleted these 2 intruding languages. They are such a nuisance! They often change places and I find myself typing wrong letters and symbols. Do you maybe happen to have an updated tutorial on deleting languages?

I'm having the same problem. I had English (US International Keyboard) and Hebrew as languages. One day, English US keyboard popped up. In trying to remove that, the Microsoft help desk actually removed all of my English keyboards, so my computer restarted with only Hebrew. After reinstalling English (US International) and completing the steps outlined above to remove Hebrew, I still had Hebrew showing up in the startup/shutdown screens. I followed the steps outlined on How to completely remove or uninstall display languages in Windows | Digital Citizen to further remove Hebrew, but I am still showing Hebrew as the computer initially starts up. It does shift back to English after a few seconds, but there must be some residual Hebrew in the system somewhere. English (United States) is the only Preferred Language showing in the Language Settings. Any other places to get rid of this residual Hebrew so it doesn't pop up sometime when I really need to have English (e.g. a warning screen)? Here's hoping; thanks in advance.

How to remove a language from Windows 11? I have removed it from Windows Settings but it is till here (for instance in layout switcher).
