    How to Create Screen Snip Shortcut in Windows 10

    Starting with Windows 10 build 17661, a new Screen Snip feature has been added to Windows 10 to be able to quickly snip and share a screenshot.

    You can snip a rectangle, something a bit more freeform, or full screen and it will go straight to your clipboard. If that’s all you need, you can take it from there. Want more, though? Immediately after taking a snip you’ll now get a notification that will take you and your snip to the Screen Sketch app where you can annotate and share away.

    Starting with Windows 10 build 18219, the Screen Sketch app has been updated to version 10.1807.2286.0 and renamed to Snip & Sketch.

    This tutorial will show you how to create or download a Screen Snip shortcut in Windows 10.

    A screen snip is saved to the clipboard by default.

    Create Screen Snip Shortcut in Windows 10-000002.png

    Code:
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\DesktopBackground\Shell\ScreenSnip]
    "MUIVerb"="Screen Snip"
    "Icon"="%SystemRoot%\\System32\\shell32.dll,259"

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\DesktopBackground\Shell\ScreenSnip\command]
    ""="explorer.exe ms-screenclip:"
    @Brink - something tells me you probably already have a tut for that!)

    Does not work on my Win10 1803 , its "saying"; you need a new app !
    When using "Programs"in the startmenu ( typing "Screen Snip ") it does work . How to make the Screen Snip Context menu working..........??

    maybe language-problem ; Screen Snip = Knipprogramma ( Dutch) ???
    Got the Shortcut working by making shortcut from the SnippingTool.exe ( system 32 )

    Remains the context-menu ............

    @pietcorus2,

    Ah, that would be why the Screen Snip app isn't found on your system then. It's only available starting with build 17661.

    Strange , coz the shortcut does work and starts the Screen Snip at once !
    So, it should work in the context-menu also.............( yes\no\why not ??)

    If you used SnippingTool.exe for the shortcut, that would run the Snipping Tool app instead of Screen Snip.
