How to Measure How Many Items on Start Menu in Windows 10

Items on your Start menu are the total count of shortcuts displayed in All apps and pinned tiles combined.

All apps in the Start menu displays an alphabetical list of shortcuts to all installed Windows apps (Microsoft Store) and desktop apps on your Windows 10 PC. Some of these shortcuts are grouped into folders with the folder name in the alphabetical list.

Pinned tiles are the apps, contacts (People app), folders, drives, library, network, etc... that you pinned to Start and have sized, arranged into groups, group names, and used in Live Folders as part of your Start layout.

By default, the Windows 10 Start Menu only supports showing up to 2048 items. If you have more than 2048 items, some or all items may no longer show.

This tutorial will show you how to measure how many items you have on your Start menu for your account in Windows 10.

    Here's How:

    1 Open PowerShell.

2 Copy and paste the command below into PowerShell, and press Enter.

    Get-StartApps | measure

3 PowerShell will now output a Count of total items you have on your Start menu. (see screenshot below)

4 You can close PowerShell if you like.

I just stumbled upon this & have a question.
I opened Powershell & typed Get-StartApps | measure; my App count came to 106. Being curious, I counted the Start Menu shortcuts (not any folders, just shortcuts) & came up w/107 (I ran the Powershell instruction & counted multiple times). Does anyone know why this is? Just curious, not a big deal.

Is there a way to remove (not uninstall) Windows Built-in shortcuts, I don't find them in:
    C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs
    C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

    Edit:
I was just wondering this, does the Powershell instruction take into account similar shortcuts?
Doing something unrelated, I remembered there are 2 similar shortcuts:
Under the Start Menu folder Windows Administrative Tools, I see ODBC Data Sources (32-bit) & ODBC Data Sources (64-bit). Could this be why Powershell's count & mine do not add up?
