It looks like the .reg file in step 2 of Option Two in this tutorial worked to turn on Core isolation for you.

Correct, you could use step 3 to turn it off.
Excellent, and I am happy to report that I don't seem to be having any driver problems, as others have stated. So it looks like I am good to go. It would be nice if Microsoft would fix things so this feature could actually be turned on and off from the WDSC. :)

I want to personally thank all those who contributed to this thread.

People should be aware that some of the antivirus products are negatively affected by core isolation.
For instance, I just now tried installing Kaspersky Internet Security 19 (Release Candidate version).
Even though Kaspersky already put out a patch providing "full support" for April Update, after the installation finished a page displayed a long list of protections that Kaspersky can't do, because of my device security settings.
I heard that other AV products also have problems, but I don't know details.
So, if you plan on staying with Windows Defender, Core Isolation is great...

I would love to try it, but I'm afraid some of my drivers would be incompatible or some key programs wouldn't function well (primarily Citrix Receiver, Philips Device Control Center, and Dragon Medical Practice Edition).

You can always turn it off if you do notice issues. :)

I may try it tonight while watching TV. Definitely don't want it to go down tomorrow while at work. Losing a note from a crash is a major PITA.

I have Kaspersky Internet Security, Version 18, and I don't seem to be having any issues. It's only a matter of time before all these issues are resolved, and probably sooner, than later, because Microsoft is strict about vendor compliance. I

So far Dragon MPE, PDCC, and Citrix seem to work OK.

The one issue I've had so far is with OneCalendar. I can't change colors of calendars (it states purchase price cannot be found, when I try to purchase it [again] I get the same error). If I try to look up my license information, I get a core memory exception.

I've emailed the developer to see if there is an ETA on the fix. Hopefully it will be soon.

I went to disable the core memory protection, but the on/off button is grayed out and there is a notice that it's managed by my administrator. Not sure how to change it with the switch. May have to use the registry edit to do it after I give my daughter a bath.

It is not issues that you would notice. But the AV is not able to do all that it could be doing, and should be doing, to protect you.
You can ask Kaspersky support about it, or post on their forum. Kaspersky is not the only AV that is affected. They just are honest enough to disclose the limitations of their product.

Out of curiosity, can someone give some advice regarding the settings managed by your system administrator error?

This popped up after activating core isolation and now seems to be present in Bitlocker as well.
