Please go ahead and post a screenshot showing what you see for option 1 instead to see if anything may stand out.

Do note, this setting only applies to UWP apps (aka: Microsoft Store apps, Settings, etc...), and not desktop apps like Firefox and Thunderbird.

Sorry, Brink, for my insufficient complaint. I made the mistake of accessing "ease of use" by "configurations" and that results in a very different in outlook from searching the same thing in "settings" - Don't ask me way.

I found the option in settings after all, but to now help.
In Settings The option "hide scrollbar ..... " is off.
In the register there are 2 references both : "DynamicScrollbars"=dword: 0x00000000.

But even in Registereditor the slider of the the scrollbar hides and you have to hover on thi invisible slider by accident to see and use it. It is not only a firefox and Thunderbird problem on my machine the hiding happens everywhere

Go ahead and post a screenshot showing this for Registry Editor to see if anything stands out.

Usually, scroll bars show by default for desktop apps.

Finally I can be more precise : the question is Why I have to find the hidden slider, before I can see the slider ?
E.g. to find a reply in this tread I have to move all along the rightside of my screen in the hope to find the slider, somewhere in the total white space . and then I have to hit it when a darker spot shows. It is do distracting to do such a test of handyness all the time in between reading an article. Why MS obligates to play cat and mouse games when you work ?
