Turn On or Off Touch Keyboard Add Period after Double-tap Spacebar in Windows 10
You can use different keyboards with Windows to fit your needs. The most common is a physical, external hardware keyboard that you plug into your PC. Windows 10 includes a touch keyboard for PCs.
Starting with Windows 10 build 17063, you can add a period after you double-tap the Spacebar in the touch keyboard.
This tutorial will show you how to turn on or off add a period after you double-tap the Spacebar while using the touch keyboard for your account in Windows 10.
- Option One: Turn On or Off Touch Keyboard Add Period after Double-tap Spacebar in Settings
- Option Two: Turn On or Off Touch Keyboard Add Period after Double-tap Spacebar in Registry Editor
EXAMPLE: Touch keyboard
1. Open Settings, and click/tap on the Devices icon.
2. Click/tap on Typing on the left side, and turn on or off (default) Add a period after I double-tap the Spacebar for what you want under Typing on the right side. (see screenshot below)
3. You can now close Settings if you like.
The downloadable .reg files below will modify the DWORD value in the registry key below.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\TabletTip\1.7
EnableDoubleTapSpace DWORD
0 = Off
1 = On
1. Do step 2 (on) or step 3 (off) below for what you would like to do.
This is the default setting.
A) Click/tap on the Download button below to download the file below, and go to step 4 below.

4. Save the .reg file to your desktop.
5. Double click/tap on the downloaded .reg file to merge it.
6. When prompted, click/tap on Run, Yes (UAC), Yes, and OK to approve the merge.
7. You can now delete the downloaded .reg file if you like.
