    It really needs a feature where you don't have to click the search box. When you type, you search. Seems logical
    Ctrl+F is just akward for my hands.
    That would be something good to send feedback on to Microsoft about. If enough people request a feature, it may get added if able.

    I looked and found a post with enought upvotes. They say that they take it into consideration as they investigate. We just have to wait for the result.

    Timeline gone

    As of today, there's no timeline. I have the following in settings:
    Open and Use Timeline in Windows 10-image.png
    Under "Show activity from these accounts", it only has my email account for Microsoft. I didn't change my settings. Is there a way to get the Timeline back without sending my activity history to Microsoft?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello phrab,

    In addition to what you have turned on in your screenshot, do you have Show activities from these accounts turned on for your Microsoft account like in step 3 of the tutorial below?

    Thank you for the response. Yes. I guess I wasn't clear. Under "Show activity from these accounts", it lists my email address (which I use for my Microsoft account) & it's set to "on".

    The Windows Search service is also enabled & set to Automatic (Delayed Start).

    I recently used your "Reset_and_Rebuild_Search_Index.bat" because my searches were slow. Could that have done anything?

    @phrab,

    Double check to see if Timeline may have been disabled using an option below.

    That worked! Thank you very much!! I don't know why it wasn't working before...the group policy
    Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\System\OS Policies\Enables Activity Feed

    was set to "Not configured", which is what your tutorial said was ok (unless I read your tutorial wrong). However, using your reg file & logging out & back in cured it.
