Surface Pro 4 Not Switching to Headphones with Flash in Edge/IE Only

Recently, when I am playing Flash content in either Edge or IE and then plug in the headphones or connect a Bluetooth speaker device, the sound continues on the speakers and does switch to the headphones or Bluetooth device. Other non-flash web media content (e.g. YouTube), system sounds, media played locally (e.g. using Media Player), and Flash content using Chromes switch the sound properly to the headphones or Bluetooth speaker when they are plugged in. I did a system restore to a point where I thought the switch to headphones or a Bluetooth speaker in Edge and IE was working, but that hasn't solved the issue.

    Any recommendations? Thanks...

Whoever moved this, I do not believe it is a driver or hardware issue. I believe it is a Flash on Edge/IE issue that impacts sound.

I'm updating this thread with some information I just received. This issue appears to be a known issue: Antón Molleda on Twitter: and Flash Player 27.0.0.130 - Audio Issues |Adobe Community . It appears to be an Adobe change, and Microsoft is working on how fast we can ship and update once Adobe rolls back the bug.

As suspected, this is not a hardware/driver issue, but is now definitively identified by Microsoft and Adobe as a Flash issue. It would better be placed in the general forum (as the issue does not just impact Edge/IE but any app using the broken Flash API may be impacted) and may users may not realize the specifics of the issue (hence burying it in either the Browsers and Email or the Software and Apps forums might bury it). But it definitely does not belong in this Drivers and Hardware forum, as I suspected.

    Can this thread be moved?
