Do you get 2 drives? One for backup and one for install media.

I need 2 drives? I'll try to see if I can fit all my stuff on my smaller drives, I have everything I need in a single folder so I can easily move it. I started downloading the windows 10 thing with the 16 GB drive

Don't want to add any confusion. DENMON are you resetting or are you doing an in place repair / upgrade?

Resetting? I assume that is what I am doing here.

At this very moment, I am downloading the Windows 10 thing. My plan after it finishes, is to move all my backup onto another drive now since I didn't realize this required 2 drives. And then after that, I will reset my PC so everything will be fixed and I will be happy.

That is correct. You said you wanted to clean install. I agree.

Except the thing of it is that I think it will format that thumb drive and erase all that backup you did sorry to say.

Ya I saw the warning, so no worries! I put all the backup stuff in a separate folder not in my drive, so I don't have to look for everything again.

God point HG. While a clean install resets the environment it is different than a Reset from the Advance Startup options.

To DENMON once data is backed up to other drive I think I would disconnect the drive containing your data. Install and connect after system in.
