Realtek no sound om Gigabyte board W10 x 64

Thank you for your comment. To what drivers (*.exe) are you referring? Are they on the Realtek site? It is certainly worth trying, although I tried at least a dozen of different drivers up to now. I also tried the Microsoft / Realtek driver as
included in W10. Presently I’m back on the 6.01.7553 version which is the driver that Gygabyte is proposing for the H61M board.
I noticed a remarkable phenome while fiddling around with the Realtek control panel. If I disable the option
to detect the front connectors, the control panel tells me that connectors are placed. Enabling the detection has the opposite effect and shows that connectors are “disconnected”. While doing this there is a “clicking” sound in
the speakers that are connected at the rear connectors. This would indicate that the board and sound chip are still OK and that we have a software problem at hand. However there is no real sound produced in whatsoever option.

One of these should do the trick. https://necacom.net/index.php/realte...-0-1-8603-whql

Again thank you. Tried the drivers as found on the site. Very usefull site by the way!
First installed the 8186 driver by executing Install.exe and after the 8186 was installed (and did not solve the problem) upgraded to the 8603 pacckage. Althoug the sound device is listed in the overview on the site, no luck! And again the control board is showing weird things such as detecting front speakers that are not plugged in when switched off and reporting plugs are removed when front detection is switched on.

As soon as I have some more time, I will install either Linux or an old W7 x64 version on the machine in order to exclude hardware problems. It is a test computer anyway so no big big deal by reinstalling software of saving documents.

Sorry that didn't solve the problem. Maybe you could give it another shot by using DDU Display Driver Uninstaller Download version 18.0.0.6 to completely uninstall drivers first. As its' done in safe mode, once you restart in normal mode it may pick right drivers up.

    No sound W10 x 64 Realtek

    Hello,
It took me a while before I was able to do father tests. I went back to an older version
of W7 both x32 and x64 and tried several drivers with no luck at all. I also
tried Linux / Ubuntu with the same negative result. Finally I went back to the
latest version of W01 x64 and tried several drivers. I also tried modified newer
drivers by disabling signature enforcement of Windows. Again no luck and the
same weird phenomena such as showing no speakers while connected and the other
    way around but no sound.

Normally one might conclude that the Realtek chip has gone out of service but there are
two things going against this theory. First there is a distinct clicking sound
in the speakers at start-up of the computer and also when installing new
drivers. Furthermore I found there must be at least ten thousands of similar
cases on the Internet, most of them with somewhat older computers. Most of
these cases have remained unsolved. For the time being I will continue without
sound and may be sooner or later I will find a solution. It is just a personal fight
against this old computer that I don’t want to lose.

Hi, experienced the same problem with no audio but after an exhaustive search the problem was resolved by getting DriverToolKit, which updated all my audio drivers, hope this helps

Realtek no sound om Gigabyte board W10 x 64

    Nikki,

Thank you for your suggestion. I tried similar solutions such as IO Bit driver Booster, Windows update and they all did not work. Altogether I must have tried some 20 drivers. Yesterday I tried if Driver Toolkit could find a driver that I had no seen before, but no such thing. Finally I decided to buy an Eminent Sound Card for some 20 Euro’s and now this old computer has sound again. Nonetheless I’m still reluctant to admit that I could not solve this problem and I’m still looking for a manner to test the Codec chip so I can find out whether it is the chip that has gone or if it is really a driver problem.
