On my set up, it's better.
And it sounds really good over all when listening to Brutal Slam on YouTube, using Edge Canary even

Not sure what i'm doing wrong downloaded the Generic release as always and it says no driver could be found? newest drivers also seem to be labelled differently to what i'm used to seeing and there's two different folders inside the archive instead of the usual one.

Also despite my motherboard supporting DTS Headphone:X it shows in the spatial sound section but once selected disappears and doesn't show up again until i restart the windows audio service

I'm using an Asus Prime Z370-A mobo

managed to install the new driver without using the setup.exe rookie error ^^ DTS issue still persists

also in Realtek HD Audio Manager it shows "your front in impedance is equal to or higher than 50 ohm"

but on the previous driver it shows "your rear line out impedance is equal to or higher than 110 ohm"

I'm using Hyperx Cloud Alpha's directly into the rear of my pc i assume this is some kind of issue with not using the setup.exe maybe?

Hello all, having a similar issue with all this Realtek buzz, it was driving me crazy because I wanted to have Realtek HD Audio Manager in my taskbar during Windows 10 startup.

I am using a Z370 AORUS Gaming 5 board (link included) and I am hoping I am doing this correctly with my on board sound and using the best drivers available to me, or should I be using the drivers posted on page 1 from Brink? I want to make sure I am doing this correctly. I am not sure what file to download from the Microsoft update Catalog on page 1, and when I try to click the cab file link that Brink posted, it doesn't work for me for whatever reason. I get an error message in my browser. Saying not available.

On my motherboard homepage the original listed Realtek Audio Driver is 274MB. Then for v1809 it drops down to 30MB, then for May 1903 update it drops even lower to 17MB.

So here is what I tried, when I installed the standalone 17MB driver I had no Realtek HD Audio Manager in my startup taskbar and no Realtek directory or files existed on my computer. Nothing in the C:\Program Files\Realtek, the directory was non-existent. The only entry Windows added to my startup was RtkAudUService64.exe located at C:\Windows\System32 directory and nothing else was to be found. This was annoying me because I wanted the Realtek HD Audio Manager in my startup for Windows 10 and in my taskbar.

So I did the following, which I am not sure if it is the correct method or even if I am using the correct drivers, or crippled drivers. Here is what I did:

    1. I unstalled the Realtek Audio Driver (Note) Win10 ver.1903 supported. - [6.0.8703.1] - 17.66 MB - 2019/05/29
    2. I rebooted and installed the Realtek Audio Driver - [6.0.1.8210] - 274.18 MB - 2018/05/23 instead.
    3. When I installed huge setup it added back Realtek HD Audio Manager to my taskbar and startup with W10.
    4. A new entry was created in regedit at startup.
    Yes HKLM:Run RTHDVCPL Realtek Semiconductor - "C:\Program Files\Realtek\Audio\HDA\RtkNGUI64.exe" -s
    5. I then just went into Control Panel > Device Manager and manually updated the Realtek Audio Driver (Note) Win10 ver.1903 supported. - [6.0.8703.1] - 17.66 MB - 2019/05/29 files myself without running the installer, as running the installer was telling me to delete and uninstall the old 274MB Realtek install and replace it with the plain 17MB install instead, so I cancelled that install.
    6. I rebooted the computer and now have 2 entries in regedit for startup

Device manager lists the driver as:

and now in the taskbar I have the icon that comes up on startup:

Is my Macguyver method that I did here acceptable to have the Realtek HD Audio Manager back on my machine or not? Installing the old 274MB installer to create the C:\Program Files\Realtek directory and then just updating the drivers in Control Panel manually instead of running the 17MB installer? Because I did a test run and when I ran the 17MB installer on top of the 274MB one, it removed the entire C:\Program Files\Realtek folder and just defaulted to its original C:\Windows\System32\RtkAudUService64.exe file and entry in startup. I had no more HD control panel to adjust my EQ's and the other settings to my liking.

Will this affect the stability of my machine or cause any driver errors or loss of sounds and codecs and anything else I do or use via audio on the computer or is this fine.

Apologize for the long post, but if anyone can help me and let me know if what I am doing is fine, or should I not be doing this method at all? Someone was saying that manually updating the Realtek via Control Panel does not update all the drivers correctly? I'm still an amateur at this, but the main goal was the HD control panel, so that is why I am posting + asking for help.

    Thank You.

    Hi YoTips.

I think what's confusing you is that the 6.0.1.8210 driver Gigabyte listed for your Z370 AORUS Gaming 5 board is that the 8210 driver is the older (HDA, nonUAD) driver, while the 6.0.1.8586 or [8586] driver is a UAD driver, which has a different format. Ditto with the recently released [8703] driver which is also a UAD driver.

The classic Realtek HD Audio Manager app is only found in the traditional HDA drivers and not the UAD drivers.
Realtek UAD drivers use Realtek Audio Control or Realtek Audio Console UWP app, which is downloaded from the MS store.

I think I need to tell Gigabyte about the format change with the new Realtek audio drivers in their forums because the newer & smaller UAD drivers have a different structure than the older nonUAD drivers and can confuse some users.

If you really need the 8703 HDA (nonUAD) Realtek audio driver [not the UAD driver], get this one from Github.
Use 8703 FF10 because your Gigabyte gaming board has Creative integration. But first uninstall any existing Realtek audio drivers with Display Driver Uninstaller, then clean install the 8703 FF10 HDA driver which does come with the bundled Realtek HD Audio Manager app.

Another good reason why I don't install or update my Realtek audio drivers thru Device Manager and always use the Realtek setup program to install or remove their audio drivers.

if you want to have Realtek HD Audio Manager available on Win10 startup, use only FFxx HDA nonUAD drivers and avoid using UAD drivers

Wow so it looks like Realtek is finally slowing down HDA driver production.

Yep, it looks like they're more interested in releasing the UAD ones...abandoning HDA little by little (who knows?)
