From what I know , though I don't deal with UAD Drivers as my Desktop can't use them, the FULL UAD Driver is usually in the 30-40mb range due to the dependancies included. The Control panel always comes from the Windows Store or at least it is Updated from there once the Full Man. File is installed.

Hello, I am new. I have been looking into getting the Realtek Audio Controller. I tried to install it over the Windows store but to no avail. Error code: Code: 0x803FB005.

I then ventured of in search of a solution. From what I understand, its my version of Realtek driver. Because its not UAD. So I assume that's the problem.

I tried this guide but I think its too advanced for me: GitHub - alanfox2000/realtek-universal-audio-driver: A non-official repository for downloading the lastest UAD components from Realtek FTP server.

Do you guys have experience with it? Otherwise what else can I try?

    Interesting

I've been runnig the unofficially installed Chromium Edge, and noticed the highs & mids on my favorite YouTube test songs were a little muffeled using 8648.

Remembering how 8656 was good, just a little sishy on the highs, I reinstalled it and retried my songs on YouTube, and now they sound the same as 8648 using Chrome. Edge beta/canary version 75.0.111.0.

So for people deciding on which drivers are best for them, it depends on what player you use mostly(although they usually come with their own EQ to make any minor adjustments), and now what browser for streaming.

Remember I'm using UAD drivers & Nahimic with ROG Sonic Studio III, and YMMV.

Thanks for sharing your experience Cliff

thanks Cliff , I actually haven't seen one that large before...especially not on MUC but I have not had a laptop for some time now , so haven't kept up with UAD Drivers since my X99 MB is happy with the HDA Drivers.

I am now seeing a "flood" of new realtek audio drivers posted in MUC recently since MS has not posted any new ones in many weeks since early Feb. 2019 (perhaps because they're preparing to release 1903/19H1 in April)

new HDA driver in the Catalog - 6.0.1.8627 (110.9Mb) [cab download] (posted late March 2019, maybe 3/27 or 3/28)
all new drivers from MUC like 8652 and 8656 are UAD drivers only (again posted late March 2019)

you can replace the 8619 HDA driver with the 8627 HDA version now, Brink
