Seems like Lenovo posted their version of the 6.0.1.8642 HDA/SST driver for Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Tablet Gen 3 laptop PCs [machine types 20KJ, 20KK], includes Dolby DAX3 app, ADCTL for FMAPO and Intel HDA SST driver for Realtek HD Audio SST - release notes

I'll wait to update on patch Tuesday March 12 for something in the 8650s - still happy using 8639

@asturias7 these are really good sounding drivers for me, I've been using them since this morning. They are open sounding and with a good punchy bass.

Regarding the link, it could get taken down as it's a direct link to the driver download from an unofficial source. I think the best way would be just to link to the page that the downloads are on. Just have to wait and see what happens

    You too Dimitri

    Note   Note
Just a note for anyone else looking for the ROG drivers, on the UAD page, the top one is only the drivers(stand alone) and lower down is with Sonic Suite

Realtek HD Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS Nahimic) - Last version [05/03/2019] :
    ----Drivers : 6.0.1.8648 WHQL.

    - Realtek HD Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS Nahimic + Sonic Studio III integration) - Last version [05/03/2019] :
    ----Drivers : 6.0.1.8648 WHQL
    ----SS3 Extension Drivers : 1.1.7.56670 WHQL
    ----NH3/SS3 APO SoftwareComponent Drivers : 1.3.0.0 WHQL

Personally the standalone is worthless to me as the effects and EQ are missing.

    information   Information
There is also a ROG Realtek HDA thread: [DRIVERS] Realtek HD Audio (HDA))
Again be careful as there are two HJDA versions:

    Realtek HD Audio Drivers (HDA - FF00) - Last version [05/03/2019] :
    ----Drivers : 6.0.1.8648 WHQL

    Realtek HD Audio Drivers (HDA - FF03/Nahimic) - Last version [05/03/2019] :
    ----Drivers : 6.0.1.8648 WHQL
(can be used with Sonic Suite!!!)

Agreed. Everything sounds pretty well-balanced with 8648.

Why I feel it's important to use ASUS ROG Sonic Studio 3 if you can.
It has settings options even for Hyper-V virtual machines
That could come in handy if someone uses a VM strictly for media.

In the screenshot is my Insider VM, with Sonic Studio from my host system

Realtek Audio driver is currently at version 6.0.1.8648

Which is your favorite/best sounding one, in the 86xx series? (Please state if it's HDA or UAD)

    UAD

Right now the 8648 is really good on my system(PC with soundbar see my specs).
It has a very balanced sound:
    • the highs are crisp but not too high and sloppy(no sishing on the high hats, just a nice crisp ts-ts-ts) ,
    • the lows are not muffled,
    • the sub bass has a solid thump,
    • and the mids are perfect.

When I check the new drivers I never change any of my sound settings, but... Sonic Studio 3 usually gets updated too, so I'm pretty sure that affects sound quality too.
