Latest Realtek HD Audio Driver Version
-
Hi,
@
DooGie: Doesn't make sense to me either. I often use Station Drivers as a source for most of my drivers updates.
You'll get a setup.exe for RT drivers which as you know remove the old drivers before installing the new ones.
Much easier that way as I don't have to run third party programmes to clean the system up after an update.
Cheers,
I'm pleased it's not just me then.
I agree with you about Station Drivers, I've never had any problems with the downloads from them and as you say most of the Realtek drivers come with a setup.exe.
It's a real shame we don't have access to the Realtek ftp server any more, things were so much easier then :)

Agreed. And what about a changelog ? I mean, for pete's sake isn't that what you'd expect from a hardware company after all ?

Cheers,
I agree with both of you, but what can we expect from them really? Have you taken a look at their official website?
That should be enough to explain things.
Btw, seems some new options for 8318 have Nahimic APO Integration.

i went back to my boards default drivers as i thought i had a good d-load of the last driver and it messed up my audio on my new windows install, i'm now using driver version 6.0.1.8010 provided by MSI for my board staying with it till MS and Realtek straighten the sight out. I thought all was good when i used that driver off MS sight but soon as i started listening to music the sound was not good and garbled. this driver i got from MSI seems ok for now.

In my case, one of the versions of drivers disabled the display of certain icons from showing up in the control panel in the registry which was mentioned in a earlier post in post #953.

For me this update was a disaster as it removed/affected my Bluetooth & I ended up with an unknown device under device manager, I tried uninstalling it & reinstalling but no go, I eventually restored to an earlier image to fix it.

8308
what version 8308 from this list is "clean" (without Nahimic, Creative, etc.)?

For those of you using digital out to a receiver, do the driver updates change your audio at all? I would think since its a digital signal, there should be no change between driver builds.
Is there some bad arse receivers that I can purchase that would improve audio quality past what I can do with digital addons such as sonic studio / the creative stuff? I like to listen to rock, rap and games - I want to increase the bass on all of this without hitting the damn cutoff frequency constantly... lol
Ive been looking at a few different speaker systems too.
I know this is the realtek driver thread, but I think they would allow a few posts about equipment that works with the drivers? :) (just a few) hehe

On the MUC list you posted just left click on each individual driver in the left hand column and it will give you details.

If they get one of the drivers that have the extra stuff with it, it shouldnt install the extra parts unless they modify the inf files for creative right? Maybe the nahimic stuff will, duno if its locked by inf. The creative stuff definitely though shouldnt install unless you mod the inf file.
