Added note to above post from me.

Note : As of version 6.0.8734.1, HDA - ASUS PRIME-TUF drivers are only compatible Windows 10 64 bit 1809/RS5/17763.x or more recent. So if you are not on Windows 10 64 bit 1809 or more recent, you can not install these drivers and you will have to stay with current drivers or update your Windows.

Hi guys. Can anyone help me figure out what is going on.

I have an Asrock Z370 ITX Gaming (ALC1220) board, and I have been trying to install the latest HDA and UAD driver without success.
The last working package was the one specified on the board's official Asrock site (old 8454 with Creative build).

If I install the latest HDA drivers (ex. 8730) I have no sound on my board's output jacks.
If I try to install UAD, the setup throws an error saying that none of the packages were supported.

I have even tried the build listed a few posts above for another Asrock board, that is very similar to my board's specs.

To switch from HDA to UAD you will always get an error unless you totally nuke anything to do with HDA: Realtek Audio Console REQUIRES a Realtek HD (UAD) Driver!!

This is what I downloaded: 8734_FF00_FF04_PG473_Win10_RS5_19H1_WHQL.rar.
Opened in folder and got these two folders:
    8734_FF00_PG473_Win10_RS5_19H1_WHQL
    8734_FF04_PG473_Win10_RS5_19H1_WHQL
Did I get wrong one ?

This one worked: 8710_FF00_PG473_Win10_RS3_RS4_RS5_19H1_Win7_WHQL and is installed now.

I have followed your instructions to the letter, but I have not been able to resolve the issue.
UAD simply refuses to install with error code -0001.
Also I was expecting at least some leftover files to be found by the search (and driver) utilities, but there were no leftover Realtek files nor drivers, nor registry keys :S
Its as if I did a clean install of the OS, but it still refuses to install.

Something that also bothers me is, why would the recent HDA packages install successfully, report that the device is operational, and display everything as they should; but not be able to reproduce any sound. Even the windows "test" audio device button, throws an "unable to play sound" error.

Maybe check and make sure that the HD audio is turned on in UEFI?

    UEFI HD audio is enabled.

Currently I am on the default Windows 10 build 1903 HD audio drivers (since I don't have any luck with Realtek), so my control panel properties do not reflect the reference image. When the outdated version (supplied by Asrock) was installed and working, it was set up like your image.

Have you been able to install the soundblaster app?

if so, try this driver: Realtek HD Audio (UAD) Drivers Version R2.8x (8710.1) WHQL (Asrock)

I've listening to 8734 both music and talking tech video, and these are my new favorite.
Real clean balanced sound, hard solid punch clear highs with no sishy distortion, real clean sound, specially when listening to brutal slamming beat-down death metal(with lots of bass drops).
