Thank you for the detailed response. It was very nice. Could you or someone explain to me what is the difference between the HDA (nonUAD) driver which is 274MB install that comes with the Realtek HD manager, and the new UAD driver for Windows v1903 and is only 17MB?

contact me by sending me a PM, YoTips. I had been busy in other forums for about a week.

I've checked the contents of the 8703 UAD driver from Gigabyte and it is missing the crucial HDX_GigabyteExt_Creative_RTK.inf extension INF file, which is needed to setup the rest of the Realtek audio components - otherwise the 8703 UAD driver install will be incomplete (partial) for your Gigabyte board [though 8703 UAD does have the other HDX_GigabyteExt_RTK.inf extension INF file but that one is used on non-gaming Gigabyte boards like mine]. the previous UAD drivers from Gigabyte like 8586 & 8597 do have both HDX_GigabyteExt_RTK.inf & HDX_GigabyteExt_Creative_RTK.inf extension INF files.

in the meantime, use either the 8703 FFxx HDA (nonUAD) driver or 8720 FF00/FF01 HDA driver pack from Github, which both of these driver downloads have the classic Realtek HD Audio Manager control panel app.

fortunately, MSI (Microstar International) has a link to the Realtek Audio Control (or Realtek Audio Console UWP app) from the MS store with their recent motherboards.

that 8703.1 UAD driver I downloaded from the Gigabyte web site actually worked with my Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 R2 motherboard, which uses Realtek ALC892 audio chip with hardware ID "HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0892&SUBSYS_1458A182" - that HWID is included in both HDA and UAD drivers. I use UAD drivers on there because they take up a lot less disk space than the bulkier HDA drivers

note that the Realtek Audio Console is not loaded at startup - you'll have to launch it thru the Win10 Start Menu (and perhaps "Pin" it to the taskbar after running it, if you want to access it easily in the future)

attached screenshot of the Realtek Audio Console (which is basically the UAD/UWP equivalent of Realtek HD Audio Manager but works only with UAD drivers; nearly all the features of Realtek HD Audio Manager are there in Realtek Audio Console - I have v1.3.180 of the app which is no longer the latest version as 1.3.182 recently came out - I'm disabling auto-updates from MS store so that MS store does not automatically update this app w/out my consent)
Was previously using an old Realtek driver but due to the 1903 update had to get this driver , the icon is gone from my taskbar icon tray and i can no longer quick-swap between headphones and speakers , is there a work-around to this or should i wait for them to implement it into the app? ( i'm using exactly the same UI version as you).

"Realtek Audio Driver Integration log information

    Device HWID: INTELAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0295&SUBSYS_103C83BA&REV_1000
    Audio CODEC: ALC0295

    Realtek Driver Version: 6.0.1.8356
HDA Driver Integration: FF04 - Conexant (CXAPO) Integration"

How can I tell if I need the legacy driver or the UAD driver? The one I am getting from Microsoft is very old now. It's an HP Spectre x360 Model ch011dx.

It currently uses the Bang&Olufsen Audio Control program and not Realtek's.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi and welcome to TenForums!
Since you get the output that FF04 integration is present, it means that you're using HDA drivers. The UAD drivers are specific to each manufacturer's audio implementation.
You can always try the hp specific UAD ones, but IMHO I would stick to the HDA ones, since these are the ones provided by hp.

Can anyone PM me the files for unlocking Dolby features on Realtek HDA drivers, and is there anyway to unlock Dolby features on the UAD versions of Realtek?

First you have to install a Realtek HDA with unlocked Dolby , after installed you can update it with UAD , the unlocked Dolby stays untouched and you can now use Dolby also...........

You mean to uninstall my Realtek HDA drivers with the Dolby files then reinstalling Realtek UAD? or installing a modded Realtek HDA Driver then install UAD?

" a modded Realtek HDA Driver then install UAD "............yes, with an unlocked Dolby in it !
Thats the way I did it , unlocked HDA Realtek ( google , search , you will find one !) , then I used UAD Nahimic for updating .
Your Dolby should be enabled still , good sound , less space lost with UAD ..............
