8683.1 has a heavier bass than 8678 did, but the punch is still missing.
In fact this driver version sounds like Realtek has just joined the "Loudness Wars" of the record industry

Nothing wrong with the "punch" , when using FxSound Enhancer together with 8683 UAD................

Just so it's understood, when I say punch, I mean like the difference of flat square bass speaker(like by Kicker) compared to a cone reflex speaker(like in the old days before the modern subwoofer).

Here is a song where I notice(and when loud enough on 8648, can feel in my chest) the punch is missing.

Technical Document AES TD1004.1.15-10 Recommendation for Loudness of Audio Streaming and Network File Playback

It is recommended that the Target Loudness of the stream not exceed -16 LUFS: to avoid excessive peak limiting, and allow a higher dynamic range in a program stream.
It is recommended that the maximum peak level not exceed −1.0 dB TP: to prevent clipping when using lossy encoders.

Dimitri, this driver really over"drives" all settings, without having to make any changes.
Like someone cranked the pre-amp up full
