John, we seem to be the last ones, to upgrade from 8648....!
Unfortunately my laptop is currently in the shop, for a fan change. Hoping to get it back soon, to try 8673.

I've been holding out on 8648 too, but now Cliff has been good enough to post the ROG HDA link ( much smaller , ready to go download ) of 8673 I may need to give them a try too.....

I'm finding HDA 6.0.1.8673 = 6.0.1.8228. Both very good sounding, no obvious difference to me.

The problem is 8673 (FF00), like all the newer drivers is missing the effects tab completely and requires the Nahimic garbage to have effects like loudness equalization and EQ. 8228 has everything included, stand alone...no Nahimic garbage required.

Sorry KB and Mike....But I didn't know about you Mike and as for KB I was under the impression that he had abandoned us 'HDA-stuck unfortunates' for the new world of UAD drivers!

No I am squarely stuck in the HDA world like you DDelo , my X99 MB is one generation too old for UAD it seems , and honestly HDA or UAD doesn't matter to me, sound seems the same..... I had UAD on a Laptop for a while but it was defective and got returned.( and not replaced)
